Privacy Policy
1. What Grantura Does
Grantura is a browser extension that helps researchers fill grant application forms automatically using their uploaded CV and documents. It uses AI services (Groq or Google Gemini) to generate answers based on your documents.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, or any personal information
- We do not store your CV or documents on any server
- We do not track which websites you visit
- We do not store form answers or application data
- We do not require account registration
- We do not use analytics or tracking tools
3. How Your Data Flows
When you use Grantura:
- Your PDF documents are read and stored locally in your browser's storage (
chrome.storage.local) - When filling a form, your document text and the form questions are sent directly from your browser to either Groq or Google Gemini API — using your own personal API key
- The AI response (form answers) is returned directly to your browser
- No data passes through any Grantura server — the connection is directly between your browser and the AI provider
4. Third Party AI Services
Grantura supports two AI providers. When you use Grantura, your document text and form questions are sent to whichever provider you choose:
- Groq: Privacy policy at groq.com/privacy-policy
- Google Gemini: Privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy
You use your own API key for these services. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies. Both services offer free tiers suitable for personal grant applications.
5. Browser Storage
Grantura stores the following data locally in your browser only:
- Your uploaded document text (CV, publications etc)
- Your API key (encrypted by the browser)
- Your AI provider preference
- Results from the last form you filled
This data never leaves your device except when sent to your chosen AI provider during form filling. You can clear all stored data at any time from the extension Settings tab.
6. Open Source
Grantura is open source. You can review the complete source code at github.com/tosharetoday007/grantura to verify these privacy claims.
7. Children's Privacy
Grantura is designed for researchers and academics. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
