Do I need a credit card for the free plan?
No. The free plan requires no payment details whatsoever. Just install the extension and start using it immediately.
How do I get my license key after paying?
Your license key is emailed automatically within seconds of payment completing. Check the inbox of the email linked to your PayPal account. Then open GKS Write → Settings ⚙️ → License Key → paste it in and click Save. Pro features unlock immediately.
What is a .gkspack file?
A .gkspack file is your complete backup — it contains your entire reference library and manuscript in one file. Upload it on any device to restore your work instantly. Free users get 30 downloads per month; Pro users get unlimited.
Can I use GKS Write on multiple computers?
Free users are limited to one device. Pro users can install and activate GKS Write on as many devices as they want using the same license key.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. Cancel at any time directly through your PayPal account — no need to contact us. You keep full Pro access until the end of the billing period you already paid for. All sales are final once the license key is issued.
Is my data private and secure?
Yes. All your manuscripts and references are stored locally on your own device — we never see them. No manuscript content is ever stored on our servers.
What journals and websites does GKS Write support for saving references?
GKS Write works on PubMed, Europe PMC, ScienceDirect, Springer, Wiley, Nature, BMJ, NEJM, JAMA, The Lancet, BioMed Central, PLOS, Frontiers, Taylor & Francis, and most major journal websites. You can also add any reference manually or by pasting a DOI.
